Search and filters#
There are two places to search in the administration, and they do different things.
Search in the header#
The Hledat v administraci… field at the top right searches records across modules. Useful when you know what you are looking for but not where it lives.
The filter row above a list#
Under every table header sits a row of fields. It searches within that one area and offers exactly the criteria that make sense for the given list.
Field types you will meet:

Searching is triggered by the hledat button on the right.
A range does not have to be complete
One side is enough. A "from" without a "to" means everything from this value upwards.
Filters add up#
Fill in several fields and only records matching all conditions are listed. It is not an "either/or" search.
This is the most common reason a list unexpectedly comes back empty — a value left over from an earlier search sits in one of the fields.
Clearing a filter#
Empty the fields, switch the dropdowns back to Vše and confirm with hledat.
A filter survives leaving the page
Leave a list and come back and the filter may still be set. It looks as though records vanished from the system. Before hunting for a bug, check the filter row.
Filters and bulk actions#
A bulk action does not apply to the whole filtered result — only to the rows you have ticked on the currently displayed page.
A dangerous combination
Filter, tick, then change the filter, and only then run the bulk action. The ticks stay but may now refer to different rows than you expect. With deletion that is irreversible — always re-check the selection after changing a filter.
Why the counts differ from the site#
A list in the administration shows every record you are entitled to see — including hidden ones, unpublished ones and those past their validity. A visitor on the site sees only a subset.
So "120 products in the administration" versus "96 on the site" is not necessarily a fault.
