Site appearance#

Here you choose which front-end template the site uses and in which colour variant.

Find it under Nastavení → Vzhled webu (the Nastavení link at the bottom of the left column).

Choosing the appearance#

Templates are listed one below another, grouped into sections by the kind of site. Each one shows, on the left, a large preview of the home page in the template's base colour, and on the right its name, description and a row of smaller previews — the template's other colour variants.

Clicking any preview (the large one or a thumbnail) marks it with an outline. The change is saved only when you press Uložit or Použít.

One click selects a template-and-colour pair

You do not pick a template and a colour separately. Click straight on the preview in the colour you want — this way a new template can never end up keeping the previous template's colour variant by accident.

Procedure: change the site's appearance#

  1. Open Nastavení at the bottom of the left column and switch to the Vzhled webu tab.
  2. Find the template you want to use — the grouping helps narrow it down.
  3. Click the preview in the colour variant you want to deploy — the large preview for the base colour, or one of the thumbnails next to it.
  4. Press Uložit.
  5. Load the site and check the result.

The colour variant used to live in Site identity

The colour variant used to be set separately on the Identita webu tab. It now sits together with the template in one place, so appearance is not decided across two screens.

The switcher on the site itself is something different

Some templates show a switcher in a corner of the site that lets a visitor change the appearance for themselves — but it only affects that visitor, through a cookie in their browser, and does not change the site's setting at all.

The tab is visible only with the matching permission

Anyone without the "Vzhled webu" permission will not see the tab in Nastavení at all.
