Ratings#
Stars and reviews. The e-shop uses them on products, but the component is shared.
Find them under Sdílené moduly → Hodnocení.
Thread and rating#
A thread belongs to one thing being rated; a rating is one review. The thread keeps the computed summaries — the number of ratings, the average, and how many times each star count was given.
The summaries are stored numbers, not a live calculation
The system recalculates them when a rating changes, not on every display. If an average did not match its reviews, this value is why — not an arithmetic fault.
There is a scheduled task for drifted summaries
A recalculation runs roughly once a day and reconciles the figures. You do not have to fix anything by hand — just check with your administrator that the task runs. Drift is rare, so running it more often serves no purpose.
What a review contains#
| Field | Note |
|---|---|
| Value | the number of stars |
| Text | the written review |
| Pros and cons | separately, for legibility |
| Response | your reply, with its date |
| Author and IP | |
| Approved | with the approval date |
| Thumbs up / down | how others rated the review |
| Reports | how many times it was reported |
Replying to a review#
You can reply to every review. The reply appears beneath it.
Reply mainly to the bad ones
One civil reply to criticism does more for credibility than ten pieces of praise. And it is read by the people still making up their minds.
Approval#
Reviews are usually approved. You can see when each was approved.
Do not delete negative reviews merely for being negative
Nobody believes ratings where everything is five stars. What should be deleted is what breaks the rules — abuse, off-topic text, a competitor's advertising.
Voting and reporting#
Readers can give a review a thumb or report it. It drives the ordering — useful reviews to the top.
Votes are counted by IP
It is not watertight, but it is enough for the purpose.
Who may rate#
Depending on the module settings — anybody, only logged-in users, or only somebody who bought the goods.
Restricting it to buyers raises credibility
There will be fewer reviews, but they will be worth something. For an e-shop it is almost always worth it.
