How the forum is divided. Find them under Diskuze → Kategorie.

They are ordered by dragging in the list.
🔴 A category cannot be disabled#
Unlike the other modules, there is no "active" toggle here. The only way to remove a category from the forum is to delete it.
Deletion takes the whole subtree with it
Subcategories go too. And since posts are classified into categories, you lose what was in them as well.
Rename an unused category and move it to the bottom
It is not elegant, but it is the only non-destructive option. Say in the description that it is no longer in use.
Structuring the forum#
Start with five categories, not twenty
An empty forum with twenty categories looks abandoned. You can add at any time; merging is not possible — a category cannot be merged, only deleted.
Moving a category recalculates the whole tree
On a large forum that takes a moment. Do not interrupt it, and check the tree afterwards.
Free#
A category carries a "free" field. In the current version it has no effect — discussion does not support paid categories.
Do not build paid sections on it
The setting saves but restricts nothing.
