Tariffs and payments#
Exactly one thing is paid for in the discussion: promoting a post.
Paid access to the forum does not exist
Neither a category nor entry can be charged for. Who may write depends only on whether the forum is open to visitors who are not logged in — see the module overview.
The tariff#

Prices are entered per combination of region and payment gateway. Payment by premium SMS can be set up too.
Without a price for a combination the tariff is not offered
Nothing reports it. After adding a gateway or a region, go through the price lists.
An empty product type and an empty rate mean 'take the default'
They are filled from the invoicing settings. Mind the rate: 0 % is a valid value meaning zero tax — which is not the same as an empty field.
Tariff prices are entered excluding VAT
For a VAT-registered seller the entered price is raised by the tariff's rate at payment; for a non-registered one it is final as entered. Whether the customer sees the base or the tax-inclusive price follows the Zobrazovat ceny s DPH switch on the seller company card. In detail in Tariffs and membership. Premium SMS is the exception — see below.
The premium SMS price is entered as the FINAL price, including VAT
It is exactly what the customer pays the operator. Beside the field the form shows Cena bez DPH: (price excl. VAT) — as a hint only, it is not stored anywhere.
Promotion#
A promoted post is sorted to the top of the listing.
Promotion is delivered by one specific tariff
Other tariffs do not extend it, even with a validity filled in.
What happens after payment#
- The payment moves to paid.
- The payment item is activated.
- The post's promotion is extended.
Extension only goes up
Pay twice and you get the sum.
Manual intervention#
The post has a tab of payment items.
Deleting an active item shortens the promotion
It is recalculated downwards, possibly to nothing. So handle compensation by adding an item, not by overwriting a date — the next payment recalculates that anyway.
Is promotion worth it on a forum?#
On a small forum, probably not
A promoted post at the top is worth something where there are so many topics that new ones sink. On a forum with ten topics a month nobody notices.
