Ad placements#
Banners and advertising on the site. Find them under Sdílené moduly → Reklamní plochy and → Reklamy.
Placement and ad#
A placement is a spot on the page. An ad is what appears in it. One ad can sit in several placements.
The placement#
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Width and height | the size of the spot |
| Class and identifier | how the placement is inserted into the template |
| Active |
Set the size to what you intend to put there
A stated size holds the space, so the page does not jump when the ad loads. Without it, the content shifts under the reader's hands.
The ad#
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Name | internal designation |
| HTML code | what is displayed |
| From / to | when it should show |
| Maximum impressions | the cap after which it stops showing |
| Maximum clicks | the same for click-throughs |
| Impressions and clicks | the measured figures |
| Show everywhere | in all placements |
| Active |
Impression and click caps#
An ad stops showing as soon as it reaches either cap.
Useful for a sold campaign
Sell ten thousand impressions and enter that as the cap. You need not watch for when to switch the campaign off.
A cap of zero does not mean unlimited
An ad with a zero cap may not show at all. To leave it unrestricted, leave the field empty.
The HTML code#
The ad takes ready-made HTML — an image with a link, or code from an ad network.
Inserted code runs on your site
A script from an outside source can track visitors, slow the site down or break it. Insert only code from people you trust, and go through the page afterwards.
Mind how impressions are measured
The built-in counter works for code the system renders. An ad loaded by a third-party script will show up differently in your figures than in theirs.
Time limits#
From and to set the period the ad shows in. Unlike the impression and click caps, both fields are required — you cannot leave them empty, both must always be filled in.
Set a campaign up in advance
The ad starts by itself on the date you enter. There is nothing to watch for.
For no planned end, set the end date far in the future
The field cannot be left empty. For an ad with no planned end, enter a date far ahead as to.
When an ad does not show#
- Is it active?
- Is it within its from–to period?
- Has it reached an impression or click cap?
- Is it assigned to a placement present on that page?
- Is the placement active?
