Signing in and out#

Steps#

  1. Click sign in.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Submit.

πŸ”΄ The sign-in field does not accept an email#

You sign in with your username

An email does not work even when it is correct β€” the system does not look up sign-in information by email. This is by far the most common reason people cannot get in.

You will find your name in the registration email. If you do not have it, ask for a new password β€” that form does accept an email and the message arrives with your sign-in details.

After several wrong attempts sign-in closes temporarily#

After five failed attempts within five minutes the system turns you away for a while, even if you then type the password correctly.

It is protection against password guessing, not a bug

Only failed attempts are counted, so ordinary sign-ins never trigger it. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Instead of trying again, have a new password sent

It is faster than remembering and you do not need to be unblocked.

Signing in through Google or Facebook#

If the site offers buttons for other services, just click and confirm.

Always use the same route

Sign in once with a button and once with a name and password and you may end up with two separate accounts β€” with your orders and adverts split between them.

An account created with a button has no password

"Forgotten password" will not help, because there is nothing to send. Lose access to Google or Facebook and you lose access here too.

When it does not work#

What you see What to do
"user not found" you are entering an email instead of a name
"wrong password" have a new one sent
the account does not work right after registering you have not clicked the activation link
it rejects even the correct password you have probably used up your attempts, wait a few minutes
it signs you in and straight out again enable cookies in your browser

Signing out#

The link is in your account menu.

Always sign out on someone else's computer

Closing the window is not enough. Whoever comes next opens your account complete with your address and orders.

In an internet cafΓ© use a private window

The browser then remembers nothing when it is closed.

Your cart stays#

Goods put into the cart before signing in stay there afterwards β€” and they survive signing out too.

So you do not have to choose again

The cart is tied to the browser, not just to the account. On someone else's computer that means your cart stays there after you sign out β€” the next person will see it.
