Classifieds — how they work#
A noticeboard. You post an advert, interested people get in touch.
How an advert is posted#
- You post it — steps.
- You confirm it using the link in an email.
- The operator approves it.
- You pay, if the category requires payment.
- The advert remains active until its validity ends.
Not all steps apply everywhere
Some sites do not approve; others do not charge for anything. You will find out on your first posting.
Do I have to register?#
No. An advert can be posted without an account — you get a password for later editing.
| With an account | Without |
|---|---|
| adverts in one place | accessible only by link and password |
| editing without a password | password required |
| saved searches and following | no |
| a payment overview | no |
Without the password you cannot reach your advert again
If you post without registering, save the password immediately. It cannot be recovered, and your only option is then to ask the operator.
Validity#
An advert remains active for a number of days set by its category. A warning arrives before it ends.
Extend it before it expires
Once expired it drops out of listings and enquirers cannot find it.
